I wasn't really planning to buy this palette but it was on sale (P500 from P675) last July 2016 in Watson's and it just happens that I had money that time so yup, I end up buying a few things. This is why I hate and love knowing there are SALE items in-stores because I love that I'm able to buy them at discounted rates but at the same time, I hate not being able to stop myself from buying even those that aren't really necessary. Oh well... Haha!

The palette is pretty handy, I must say. It's a compact eye shadow palette with 12 neutral colors that are very versatile - obviously why it's called "The Nudes" Palette! Hahaha! I was a bit skeptical upon buying this because I already have a few palettes with similar colors to this such as my Make Up Revolution Redemption Palette Iconic 1 (Dupe of UD Naked 1), Coastal Scents Warm Palette and so on... But I don't know, I still bought it hahaha that's what make up-obsessed do right?

The palette comes with a sponge applicator of which I forgot where I placed at. I apologize, Haha! The packaging is plastic but doesn't look and feel cheap at all although I wish there was a mirror in the palette just so it would be perfect for travelling especially because it's light weight but still has tons of colors to choose from. For the pigmentation, some of the colors are not as smooth or as pigmented as the other colors as you can see on the swatches below. Some were a bit off like the first glittery white on top and the last black-ish shadow below. They are a dud in my opinion. But then I feel for the price - it's quite affordable but I still prefer other palettes if you're at least gonna spend 500 pesos up. For a cheapskate like me, spending 500pesos is already a battle between the brain and heart. Haha!

The swatches above are swiped once with no primer, which explains why it doesn't look pretty or probably I just don't have any swatch-ing talent! Hahaha! Anyway, I love all its matte brown shades and the coppery bronze, gold and metallic brown in the palette. They feel powdery but are still blend-able so it's okay. So, here are my final thoughts:

PROS:

  • Very accessible because Maybelline is carried by almost all department stores nationwide (worldwide)

  • Price is quite affordable considering a 12- pan eye shadow palette

  • Colors are very versatile - Nude colors excite me even if I have tons of them lol!

CONS

  • Color Pay off isn't so great - def needs primer

  • Wears of easily compared to other eye shadow palettes

  • A bit chalky - and honestly not a fan of chalky eye shadows :(

WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE?

This palette is good for beginners (like me) because it has a number of shades to play with and colors are also build-able despite some being less-pigmented. I say this palette is a 3.5/5 because of it's downfalls but nevertheless, it's a nice palette. In my case, I won't be buying it again but I'm sure this palette would fit to some.
