Dumaguete has been one of the top tourist destinations in the Philippines. The city attracts tourist all over the world because of its number of beach resorts and dive spots, boulevard strip of restaurants that serves modern and local cuisines, and most of all preserves its suburbanity whereas it's a fusion of modern old school with a touch of nature (a heavy touch, actually!). It is also tagged as the learning capital of the south or is famously known as the University Town because of the four universities that were established in the city namely Silliman University; the first American School in the Philippines, St. Paul University Dumaguete, Foundation University, and Negros Oriental State University. Dumaguete is also the perfect location to get to your next adventures because of its easy access of ferries going to the neighboring cities like Cebu, Siquijor, Bacolod, Bohol, Dapitan and many more.

Accommodation establishments are arising due to the number of tourists visiting the city. Just last August 15, 2016, a new boutique hostel was born here in Dumaguete City, located at Bantayan Crossing, Hibbard Avenue (near DAR). Unlike any other accommodations, they're taking this investment to a whole new level. What was once an old home is now turned into an eco-friendly and sustainable hostel whereas they value recycling, sustainability and conservation.

The design is very unique and impressive, in my opinion. My first thoughts on this place was well..."instagrammable"!!! Lol! I've always loved rustic and industrial concepts because of its rawness and ingenuity; it makes me feel like I'm somewhere else. You won't believe that the windows and doors are remodeled from the old house! They did so good in making most out of old stuff!

...I really enjoyed taking pictures of almost anything in this place.

The architectural designs are really different from most accommodations not just in Dumaguete, but the Philippines. I'm very ecstatic that a green and sustainable venture opened up here in Dumaguete because I am a naturalist myself and it's great that a hostel is becoming an example to other establishments that businesses don't need so much brand new resources and that a green and healthy environment must be a top priority for everyone. After all, it's our way to help Mother Nature!

Rooms are different in designs, although there are others that are similar. My favorite is the 6-bed dorm and 10-bed dorm downstairs because it feels like a loft with its bricked and unpolished-like walls. Additionally, all rooms contain a reading light which is pretty cute and an individual storage (with padlock) underneath which is made from bamboos; another amazing thing about this place for mixing native and contemporary.

For people who wants privacy, they also have private rooms with their own private CR, Queen-sized bed and storage cabinets. Private rooms start at 1,200php and up while dormitory-type bunk beds start at 425/person for one night. As for the dormitory type, they can use over 14 shared bathroom in convenient locations.

Private rooms are also different in designs; I only managed to take a picture of only one because I got lazy. Haha!

Their common area is a nice place to chill and hang out with other guests. It isn't fully finished yet but is already beautiful; got me wondering what it would look once it's entirely done!

It's even more beautiful at night!!

The place is designed for backpackers or travelers but is not limited to. Anyone who is open to meet new friends in an affordable place is very much welcome here.
